When staff are working in foreign countries or travelling extensively abroad, providing quality emergency medical assistance is imperative. This is increasingly important when work involves locations which are remote or dangerous, or areas where medical facilities are sub-standard. Fortunately, we’re perfectly positioned to protect the well-being of employees faced with a medical emergency in any environment.

Working at the ‘sharp end’ has shown us that few clients possess the exact solution they require and that the cost of that service is well above what it could be.

As one of the largest UK based providers of emergency medical evacuation services, we manage some of the most complex cases imaginable for many of the world’s leading international insurance companies.  We handle almost 25,000 international in-patient cases and approximately 1,500 repatriations each year which means we've accumulated a wealth of knowledge about how to act swiftly and decisively in any situation and always with the best interests of the patient in mind.

The medical expertise to control costs on your behalf

Our highly trained medical staff ensure that the best treatment is delivered at all times whilst maintaining control of costs by assessing the treatment in line with an employees medical needs and avoiding any unnecessary expenses in the process.

We work with employers to provide flexible solutions. For some employers, it is important to keep costs down whilst ensuring the medical welfare of the patient. For others, cost is no issue when a senior staff member is involved. This collaborative approach is unique to the sector and ensures your claims are dealt with in a way that you decide.   .

Care that sets us apart

If an employee is taken ill or injured whilst working abroad, we can ensure they get the best possible care and treatment. If a suitable medical facility is not available locally, we will arrange for the patient to be evacuated to the nearest appropriate hospital or we will repatriate them safely home with your approval.

Our critical care medical staff will ensure your employees receive the best medical expertise and advice from their very first call to our 24 hour medical desk.

We will liaise directly with the employee and their treating doctors to organise appropriate door to-door transportation. Where the patient’s condition dictates, we’ll arrange a fully equipped air ambulance and make all the necessary arrangements for their emergency hospital admission on arrival.  In less serious conditions, if an air ambulance is not required, we will arrange for the patient to be repatriated on a commercial flight with appropriately qualified and equipped medical escorts to care for them.

Our response centres in London, Madrid and Auckland are on hand to provide emergency assistance to employees 24 hours a day, ensuring that medical crisis support is just a phone call away – no matter where in the world the employee is.   Every call is taken by a critical care nurse who has experience of aviation medicine and evacuation.  The empathy and experience of every one of our case managers sets us apart in the market.

To us, effective cost containment means minimising costs without compromising on patient care. Having a pan-European cost containment network means we can ensure that you benefit from negotiated discounts and protocol pricing as the savings are passed directly on to you. And, unlike some of our competitors, we don’t have any arrangements putting us under pressure to direct patients to specific clinics in order to generate additional revenue. The fact that we’re truly independent means we can access any medical facility in the world, so we can always arrange treatment at the most appropriate place for the patient and always in the most cost-efficient way for you.
